We had our first assembly for this school year this morning ✨

We opened the assembly with a prayer 🙏

We welcomed our 13 new Junior Infants, our new Senior Infant & Ms O’Connor to our school 🤗

We congratulated our Summer Stars who did great reading over the summer holidays 👏🏻 We said well done to Hannah who recently came 3rd in an international gymnastics competition & we were delighted to watch a short gymnastics performance 🤸 We congratulated our girls in 6th class with St Mary’s LFC Killererin & who have got to two finals with the school at recent blitzes. The boys have been playing very well too ⚽️ We have been very proud of the fantastic behaviour, good manners & kindness of our students when they’ve been out representing the school this past month 🥰

Our @greenschoolsire team reminded people to put their rubbish in the correct bin & to try to use their feet for Walk to School Week next week. We asked people to try not to waste anything.

Our Wellbeing team have decided to do a few things to make the entrance area of the school more welcoming and they want to make the area show a bit of our character and highlight our interests. They spoke about their ideas 💡

The Creative Schools team spoke about the plans for the garden area & told the school about a suggestion box that they’re putting into the front hall so that people can put creative ideas/wishes into the box - maybe their dreams might come true 💭

Each class performed a poem or song 🎶

We are very proud of our school uniform & we want everyone to wear it every day.

We invited all of the children who have celebrated their birthday since the start of the summer holidays to the front & sang Happy Birthday 🎈

We encourage everyone to be kind, to show respect, to tell the truth & to look after their classmates. What a wonderful get together to mark the beginning of our school year.
